Sarah is a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist and a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist. She has been a practicing, licensed massage therapist since 2005 when she graduated from the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, now part of the Cortiva Institute. Upon graduation, she immediately opened her own practice and worked in a busy chiropractic office, absorbing a wealth of information about pain management and injury rehabilitation.

It is her own experience with a debilitating back injury that led Sarah to pursue a career in massage therapy. Alternative therapies, including massage, led her to a complete recovery. A lifelong believer in the body’s own healing mechanisms, Sarah was further inspired to help others find relief from pain.

Sarah concentrates her efforts on treating clients with TMJ, whiplash and shoulder disorders. A musician herself, with a Bachelor of Music from Smith College, she especially enjoys treating injuries unique to performing artists. Over the years her knowledge in treatment for injuries and specific medical conditions has expanded to include prenatal massage, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain syndromes.

She is currently a Massachusetts State Licensed Massage Therapist, a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist, a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist under Neuromuscular Therapy American Version, and a Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist under Kate Jordan and Bodywork for the Childbearing Year. She is working towards a certification in Whitney Lowe's Orthopedic Massage Program. She has volunteered for the Pan-Mass Challenge and the Dana Farber team at the Boston Marathon for many years. She is currently an active professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and the National Association of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists.

When she isn’t busy studying muscles, Sarah enjoys playing piano, reading, cooking, yoga and being outside.
